Subic International Triathlon 2009: The Bikes

As with any triathlon, you can’t have one without bikes. Last weekend showcased a multitude of road and tri-bikes, both expensive and ridiculously expensive. I will have my own road bike someday.

Subic International Triathlon 2009: I

I went to Subic last weekend to shoot my girlfriend’s dad and his team compete in the event. Mostly were competing in the men’s age groups save for one girl who participated in the women’s age groups.

Set up of the race was very different from last year. The race organizers didn’t want to use the old beach that they’ve been using since forever so they transferred to a beach near Anvaya cove which was still in Subic. This meant that there would be two transition stations for the race. One for Swim to Bike and another for Bike to Swim. It was a bit hectic in preparing the stuff that you’ll put in the transition stations but it was a welcome challenge and change for the athletes.

Swim started at 7 am for the men’s age groups.

Subic international Triathlon was held last weekend. Good weather was a blessing for the athletes. Even thought it made conditions very hot, it was a welcome part in the event.
