Christmas has just ended and I’m very sure a lot of people got a lot of gifts from their loved ones. I am lucky enough to have a special girl friend that would indulge my running purchases.
Tricia got me a new pair of tights. Up to this day, the sight of seeing men in tights still gives her a chill feeling up her spine, she still got me a pair. She didn’t want me using my Anatomic pair anymore because it made me look like I was wearing a diaper because it had some sort of padding at the back.
TwoTimesYou compression tights. I started wearing tights when I started to get bad shin splints. I wasn’t able to find a good pair of compressions socks so I got myself a cheap pair of undersized cycling pants. I served its purpose well and it helped me to cope with my shin splints. Since then, I’ve been wearing long tights to races. The tights I got really felt different from the cycling pants that I wear. You could really feel the compression and the tightness of the fabric. I could really feel the tightness in my calves and I really liked it. This will be a good addition for my arsenal in running. No more ‘I look like I have a diaper’ with these babies.
I also got a new pair of shoes from Tricia. We actually got this together at Sports Warewhouse for a whopping 60% discount. Even though it was a bit dirty and all, a new pair of running kicks for only 1700 wasn’t really something I wouldn’t let pass. I’ve been wanting to try out these pair of shoes ever since I learned about chi running. The NB800′s sport a larger mid-sole to cater to the mid foot strike of chi running. I’ve used them for about 40 kilometers already and they feel great. A little less cushioning compared to my NB758′s though. Must be because there’s less technology put in these shoes. I know they’re but ugly but they feel right for me. I took it out for a break in and the sole already felt soft and tender like a medium rare steak. I will surely put this shoe to the test when I run the Cebu Marathon on January 10.
I love my new tights and my new shoes. Thank you Tricia! I love you!
