Cebu City Marathon: What to Expect

Time check: It’s barely two months to go before the year ends and that with the advent of the new year comes the Cebu City Marathon.  I ran last January at the first installment of the Marathon and I had a lot of fun. I was a little unprepared but I ran it for the distance and for the experience. The thought of running on pedestrian forbidden roads excite me and that was what was offered to us in the last Cebu City Marathon. The route along the coastal road of SRP literally took my breath away.

Dimsum and Siomai Can’t Jump

I spent a good long week in Davao trying to find my inner calling which was jumping.
I suck at Jumping

I tried my luck at spiking the ball in volleyball but I came up short. My running prowess didn’t even help a bit. I thought I could get enough airtime if I had enough energy going into the jump. That is failed attempt number one.

How not to do a Jump Shot

Next up are those wacky jump shots everybody does. I failed miserably again. Not only couldn’t I jump high enough, I couldn’t even make a decent face to make the photo look epic. That is failed attempt number two.

Splash

I tried my luck in the water this time. I was in the middle of the ocean, on a floating board with a diving board at one end. As I looked down over that the edge, I could see how deep the water has gotten. It was dark and cold. The color was gradienting from blue to black and it was scary. I made a silly attempt to make and epic dive but this is how I ended up. A big floppy splash. That is failed attempt number three.

The Baywatch

I called it a day and bid my calling goodbye. I just have to face the fact the I cannot jump and I will never be as good as a basketball player as that guy from the NBA. It’s a good thing that I can still run.

How to do the

I look silly. If somebody was really drowning, they be dead by the time I got to them. LOL

Poor Dog :(

I was on my way to work this morning when I chanced upon this dog on the sidewalk. I could not believe the condition he was in.

20101013-IMG_1763 The dog was thin. His ribs were lining up the side of his body. He could barely walk from the exhaustion. I drove by closer to see what was wrong with him but I was not prepared for the sight that would behold me.

Open Water Swimming

I am far from calling myself a good competitive swimmer but I think I am getting there. I went up to Caliraya over the weekend and I spent a good amount of time in the water trying to acclimatize myself with how it feels like to swim in open waters. Not to brag but I am no stranger to the open water but my first encounter left me seasick which is why I took this opportunity to get a better feel of the water.
