Urbandub’s Online Concert Taping

I had a chance to shoot Urbandub’s online concert taping last night and it was awesome. The shoot was handled by Pelicola and I believe they are going to show it online very very soon.

The stage was all set. Urbandub is a jot to shoot. They are active on stage and they look good in the camera.

The stage set up was awesome that night. It was like a big concert and everybody was jiving and rocking to the music. I loved the lights.

The show was awesome. It was a concert with a repeat button because when something went wrong during the recording, the band would need to start over again.

Too bad I wasn’t able to get a good shot of the drummer.

Watch out for the concert soon! I’ll make sure to post the details of it here when I find out! Thanks to Coy of Globe for inviting me to the event!

Running: Traversing Fort Bonifacio And Makati

I had two things lined up to do last night. First was I needed to train for the upcoming Condura Marathon on Feb 7. The other was that I needed to meet Coy at Greenbelt so I can claim my Saosin tickets. I knew if did one after the other, I’d be finishing up too late already so I did it all in one go.

makati-fort-1

I ran a whole lot last night. 17 kilometers to be exact. I went down the office to change a little before 5.30 and I was up and running by 5.45. I was supposed to meet him around 7 and if I ran straight to greenbelt, I would get there early since Greenbelt was just a mere 5 kilometers away from the Fort. I extended my run around the Fort a little before going in Mckinley Drive.

I got to Greenbelt early even with some added distance. I got there at 6.30. With Coy still in transit, I messaged him to message me when he was there already because I’d be running around the area. I ran around the Legaspi area until he got there. I never knew that a running area existed there. There was a small park where runners could jog around in. There was also this big loop around the area that I ran around in for about 6 times. I took it easy running around the area. I didn’t want to lose too much steam going back.

After those 6 rounds, I finally got a message from Coy that he was there already.

Saosin Tickets! Thanks a lot Coy for the tickets!

As soon as I got the tickets, I headed of back to Fort. Mckinley Drive was the way back again and it felt much faster. I went down the secret training grounds to add a little more mileage and to fetch my camera from Kenneth. Over all, it was a nice two birds with one stone incident.

Here’s a link to the route I ran.

Here’s Your Chance to Meet and Greet The Killers!

Aside from running until my feet bleed, yours truly also has a love for music. With The Killers concert fast approaching, one can’t help but wonder if they will have enough money to get their tickets by concert day. No fan would dare pass up the chance to watch his favorite band and I’m one of them. I seriously admit that I won’t be able to gather enough funds to get me tickets for The Killers concert on January 31, 2009 and for the past hour or so, I have been trying to find a way to get me those tickets.

It’s a good thing Globe Tattoo Broadband has something for the fans to help them out.

Am I good Enough to Win Those Tickets? That my friends is me trying my best to pose with my imaginary Globe Tattoo Broadband stick. I went to my favorite Globe Business center a few hours ago and they seriously ran out of the new Globe Tatoo Broadband stick designs. There must be a lot of people trying to join the contest. It’s a good thing that stocks will be back up tomorrow so I can surely do my best to pose with NEW Pinoy theme inspired Globe Tattoo Stick.

Just take your best photo with the NEW Pinoy theme inspired Globe Tattoo Stick and post it on the Globe Tattoo Broadband Fan Page in facebook. If you get enough votes, you win the tickets!

Check out the full guidelines and visit the Globe Tattoo Broadband Fan Page in facebook for more information.

If you were ever a fan of The Killers at some point in your life, I guess it’s a fair bet to say you would just love to meet them in person. Here is your chance.

Last Friday, we launched the contest to get free tickets to the concert via our Facebook fan page. This is essentially the extension of that contest. The mechanics work pretty much the same way.

We launched the NEW designs for Globe Tattoo sticks today, January 18, 2010. They look like this:

pinoy akoThis is how you join.

1. Take a picture of yourself with the NEW Pinoy theme inspired Globe Tattoo Sticks and post it on our Facebook fan page.

2. The top 5 entries with the most “likes” wins one (1) ticket and they get to meet and greet The Killers. You’ll get to talk and take pictures with the guys who did Mr. Brightside.

3. At 9PM, of January 28, 2010, the contest cuts off. We will no longer accept submissions or count the “likes” past January 28, 2010 at 9PM.

4. We will announce the names of the winners on this blog on the evening of January 28, 2010.

5. Winners must confirm by texting their names and contact details (landline number, cellphone number) to 0927-3890762.

6. Winners can claim their tickets on January 29, 2010 at 4th Floor, Globe Telecom Tower 2, Pioneer St., Mandaluyong City. Look for any Digital Marketing representative. Or at the concerts grounds, January 31st. Again, just look for Globe representatives.

7. Unclaimed/unconfirmed tickets will be given away in another contest on January 30, 2010.

8. In case there’s a tie, the pic submitted earlier will get the ticket.

Here’s to hoping I get to buy my Globe Tattoo Broadband stick tomorrow so I can still join the contest. Here’s to hoping that my photo gets me the ticket!

Run Radio Airs Tomorrow Night!

Run Radio: Fridays at NU 107.5

Run Radio: Fridays at NU 107.5

I’ve been listening to NU 107 since forever and I can say with utmost confidence that they always bring something new to the table. The great music that they play everyday is always part of my daily commute to and from work. When I travel late, I get to catch their radio shows; shows that always offer something informative.

I really loved NU for making Counterflow happen. Counterflow is a show dedicated to cars and motoring and just about everything else. The guys are funny, Franciso Blanco, Allan Ranch, and James Deakin are always a joy to listen to. They’re easy to listen to. Every time I get to catch the show, I get to learn something new. Informative, funny, smart, everything you’ll ever want in a radio show. No rants, gags or jokes, or overly balloon headed DJ’s in this show unlike this radio show. What’s great about Counterflow is that the show never got old. I believe they also got high awards for being the most listened to radio show.

Tomorrow night, NU will be airing a new show, Run Radio. I’ve been hearing the show’s previews on the station a lot lately and I can’t help but get excited for the first show. I hope they’ll offer the same kind of fun and learning that Counterflow offers. I hope they get high awards like Counterflow. The show will be hosted by Jaymie Pizaro and Jay Nacino, both influential and knowledgeable runners in the community. Here’s to hoping they’ll be a big success like Counterflow.

Check out the full press release here at thebullrunner.com. Catch the show tomorrow and every friday night, 9 – 10 pm. For sure, I’ll be one of their first texters welcoming them to the airwaves.

Running: Globe – Run For Home

I am at home because I ran for home at the Globe: Run for Home last Sunday. Funny that the race was for the benefit of Habitat for Humanity and that me running the race last weekend has forced me to stay at my natural Habitat which is my home. I’m staying at home not only because the race has opened my eyes as to how important my home is; not only because I took today as a vacation leave from work; it is mostly because my calves feel like they’re being clawed at and crushed by a thousand crabs every time I take a step. My legs are tired. They hurt. I got a big bloody blister on my right foot (don’t click if you are queasy). My legs are in so much pain right now.

Pain in inevitable. Suffering is optional. – Haruki Murakami

I live by those words. Tagging along like a shadow with long distance running is pain. And with that pain is suffering which you could chose to affect you and bring you down. I do the complete opposite. I love the pain. I love feeling the aching muscles on my calves every time I take a step. Call me crazy and masochistic but this me me looking at the glass half full. This me taking it to the man and showing that I can do it. I can do the extreme and take the pain. Pain feels good. It’s my assurance that I ran my heart out.

Run for Home last Sunday could very well be the most organized race I ever ran. Race registration was easy as pie when I came to Runnr and registered. It was quick and fast and effortless. Race pack distribution was fast too. I went at the first day of distribution and there were tents set up at Nike Bonifacio High Street to give out the packs.

The race started out on time. It was a different atmosphere running with the timing chip on. The race was incredibly fun for me save for the fact the I still wasn’t able to set a new PR. Two weeks ago, I was aiming to finish under 2 hours and 30 minutes. I came so close to making it but there was 50 seconds separating me and my goal. Last Sunday, I came to the race hoping to set a new personal record. I came close last time and last Sunday seemed like I did worse.

My finish time last Sunday was 2 hours 32 minutes. Back to training for me and a lot of it I must do If I plan to do the Subic Internation Marathon this October.
