Last Sunday, I ran my best 21 kilometer race. It was at the Quezon City International Marathon where, after 3 failed attempts, I finally bested my 21k personal best. My first 21 kilometer race was at Condura and I finished it with a very humble time of 2 hours 29 minutes. Since then, I’ve been trying to best my time. I trained for it and I ran a lot harder. I did drills and hill repeats to help me with my run.
Last Sunday, I was successful. Even if I was merely faster by only a few minutes, I am proud to say that I improved. As I sprinted past the finish line, I saw the clock and it read 2 hours 27 minutes. I can’t wait to see the official results.
Here’s to running the Subic Marathon this Saturday. I hope I can keep up the momentum.
