Running: Globe – Run for Home, Dreaming of a Full Mary This October

9 days from now, Globe will be having a fun run that will be for the benefit of Habitat for Humanity. It’s for a good cause. Please join me in running in the event. You’ll be helping out a lot of people. You’ll be helping out yourself by getting fit too.

See you at the 21 kilometer run. I hope I can redeem myself from the last 21 kilometer run I had at the Milo Marathon. I saw myself qualifying for that run but what really happened was the opposite.

15 weeks from now, there will be a Subic International Marathon. They will be holding the full 42 kilometer marathon along the SCTEX. The thought of running on pedestrian forbidden road always entices me. I was only 3 months into running when I forced myself to run 21 kilometers on the first taste of run on forbidden road, the Skyway. I forced myself back then to run a long distance I have never ran before and I will force myself to run this 42 kilometers for another taste of forbidden road. Wish me luck. I already cooked up myself a training plan from Runner’s World and it is looking like to be a heavy 15 weeks for me. I need to run an average of 40 kilometers a week. I looks doable but it will need a lot of discipline. I hope I can pull this off. I hope I will myself running on the SCTEX in 15 weeks.

Please wish me luck.

I wish you luck Gerard. But please steadily build-up your long runs to reach at least 35kms, and then taper. Believe me, this preparation will avoid/alleviate the pain in the last 10kms of your eventual marathon.

Good luck Gerard! Build up the base as Rico said so that you won’t gas or hit the wall at the 15 -21 k mark. You can do this man!

thanks for the encouragement and the tips peeps! I will surely train for this. building up mileage will be the biggest chore for me. Sometimes, i think i can run more but i stop because i get bored or i get tempted to go home.
