Running: AutoReview Run

Last Sunday, May 24, 2009, AutoReview held a fun run for road safety and awareness. It was held in Mckinley Hill. The race was quite informal to say the least. Not much “serious” runners joined the race. It must have been because everybody was at TNF100. I hope they had a blast but I’m not saying I didn’t have fun last Sunday too.

I witnessed something for the first time in joining fun runs last Sunday. The organizers had the participants join an aerobics session to get them warmed up. It was a welcome addition to the program. Although I would have wanted to run to start earlier.

I ran the 10k to see if I was getting faster. I previously had a 10k personal best of 61 minutes. I planned on beating my personal best but came up short with a 65 minutes finish time. When I started the run, I really thought that I could beat my personal best. The run felt good. I conquered the hills pretty easily too. Beating my personal best will just have to wait. My next official 10k will be on June 7, the Mizuno infinity run. My friends came with me when I registered and they were urging me to join the 15k and not just the 10k. I’m happy I signed up for the 10k. I need to see if I’m getting any progress.

Back to doing speed 5k’s and semi LSD’s until June 7 for me. See you at the Infinity Run.
