Running: Getting Faster?

It was already late last night. I looked at my watch and saw that it was already almost 10 pm and I haven’t even dressed up yet for running. It was late. I needed to run so that my fitness level wouldn’t go down.I quickly got out of the couch, put on my socks and shoes one at a time, very much like how everyone else does it.

Put on my arm band which had my ipod in it for a little entertainment while running. It was 15 minutes to 10pm already when I started running. I ran my normal loop around the subdivision which was uncomfortably boring. It was just a big loop around the perimiter which was almost 1k in length. It was handy to have a uniform loop. Handy but uncomfortably boring.

Ran around at peak heart rate for 5 rounds which could have added up to 5k. I finished at about 4 minutes before 10:15pm. Do the math and that equates to about 26 minutes for the 5k.

Ran my heart out last night. I felt my legs hurting from the lactate build up by the 5th loop but it was well worth it. All this pain that I take in will make me stronger and faster someday. I need to test this speed in an actual 5k road race. There’s a fun run on the 24th of May. I think its the 3rd Auto REVIEW Run for Road Safety & Courtesy 2K/5K/10K. I’m sure to be there to see if i can make that 5k time shorter and down to under 25 minutes.
